Courageous Conversations for Fundraisers: How to Fight DEI Burnout & Take Care of Ourselves

About the Event

Courageous Conversation: How to Fight DEI Burnout & Take Care of Ourselves

Research shows that burnout in the workplace – especially around DEI efforts – is higher than ever.  Low staff engagement can make us feel like we’re on this equity journey by ourselves.  Decreasing budgets can make even the simplest change feel impossible.  Combining those challenges with the increasing needs of the people many of our organizations serve and the unpaid labor that often accompanies implementing DEI efforts in the office and we’re headed toward a recipe for disaster.

Join us as we talk about some of the root causes of burnout, how we can implement new structures in our own organizations to ensure that we are making meaningful progress toward creating a more equitable workplace, and identify ways that we can take care of ourselves as we continue doing this important work.

These Courageous Conversations are designed to prove you’re not alone and give you actionable steps you can implement in your own organization to ensure the increasing inclusion, diversity, equity, and access are at the forefront of your work.

A special thank you to the Association of Fundraising Professionals Foundation for Philanthropy for their support of these programs through their Be The Cause grant program.
