National Philanthropy Day is the special day set aside to recognize and pay tribute to the impact of philanthropy in the world around us.  It's a day to honor those people active in the philanthropic community who have made our lives, our communities, and our world a better place. National Philanthropy Day, or NPD, celebrates the charitable work that EVERYONE does to make a difference and create impact in their communities.

2023 NPD Honorees

three Ways to Participate in National Philanthropy Day

An awards nomination is tops on a list of 45 easy ways to cultivate high-value donors, according to an article in Fundraising Success Magazine. At AFPSEWI we could not agree more!

Nomination deadline May 4, 2024.  Honorees will be announced in late summer.

Show appreciation for all that your donors and volunteers do for your organization by nominating them for a National Philanthropy Day (NPD) award.

Consider nominating an individual, couple, foundation, corporation, or organization that has had a tremendous impact on the work of your organization and others.  You may consider making a “co-nomination” for an award with another charitable organization.  Before making a nomination, please be certain that your nominee is willing and available to accept the award on November 12 if selected.

Please submit the NOMINATION FORM with a brief description of the person(s) or organization being nominated (one page maximum), and up to three letters of endorsement.

These honors are recognized an annual basis for work and activities that transpired over the past year to a lifetime of achievements.

Join us in celebrating the people and organizations that take action to serve our neighbors and improve our community.

On National Philanthropy Day (NPD), we celebrate the extraordinary change that fundraising and philanthropy have helped to create in our world! Join us to honor Southeastern Wisconsin's most exemplary philanthropists, donors, volunteers, and fundraising professionals.

For the AFPSEWI chapter, National Philanthropy Day is the special day set aside to recognize and pay tribute to the impact of philanthropy in the world around us. It's a day to honor those people active in the philanthropic community who have made our lives, our communities, and our world a better place.

Billions of dollars are given every year to just causes. Millions of programs and services are administered to those in need. Individuals are connected to cause and to each other. Civic participation and important societal bonds are created and strengthened through philanthropy as we work to improve the quality of life for all people.

In Southeastern Wisconsin the impact of philanthropy is beyond impressive.  As fund development professionals, we have the unique opportunity to work with people and organizations that are responsible for impacting the missions we champion.
