Develops sponsorship programs for community events, programs, and projects; pursues and secures donations from individuals, businesses and community organizations to support the events, programs and projects.
Develops and maintains community relationships to maximize community support for Department services.
Designs, implements, and evaluates a resource development strategy for the Department. Serves as the Department sponsorship contract manager.
Researches and identifies potential sponsors and partners based on their giving strategies and the relevance to Department needs. Coordinates all sponsorship development, marketing, and agreements focused on businesses and community groups.
Coordinates efforts with management team to ensure that sponsorship promises are kept. Coordinates vendor contracts to maximize alternative revenues.
Collects funds due based on contracts or sponsorship agreements.
Writes grant requests as appropriate for Department projects, events and programs. Serves as staff liaison to The Park Foundation of Waukesha.
Serves as a member of the Department Marketing and Promotion Committee, with focus on SPARS related needs.
Collaborates on the planning/promotion of programs, projects and events with coworkers, city staff, partners, and community groups
Evaluates sponsorship and partnership agreements and recommends adaptations and improvements as needed.
Participates in Department Strategic Planning.
Serves as project manager for various new projects that require fund-raising activity. Works at community events to ensure sponsors receive benefits promised; may require weekend and holiday work hours.
Coordinates and leads meetings with City staff, elected officials and community members as needed.
Obtains quotes for professional services needed on related projects; serves as liaison with professional service providers as needed.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation/Parks Management, Communications, Fund Raising, Public Relations or a related field, plus at least 4 years of experience in the coordination of resource development, preferably in a municipal, non-profit or educational setting; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
