Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is hiring a part-time Event Associate to join our development & fundraising team in a hybrid role at our Kenosha and Racine Campuses. This position provides oversight and leadership for third-party fundraising programs, as well as Pet Walk Racine-Kenosha. Key Accountabilities

  • Under supervision of the Director of Special Events, lead planning & implementation of special event fundraising programs
    • Design engagement strategies to build awareness, attendance & support of all Kenosha-Racine based WHS fundraising events, including Pet Walk Racine-Kenosha, hands-on support for other Pet Walks, and additional events
    • Actively participate in sponsorship solicitation, working closely with major gifts and institutional giving teams
    • Budget, report and manage event financials, dashboards, attendance, and timelines
  • Serve as primary organizer for all Kenosha-Racine fundraising events, including relationship building and stewardship of participants, vendors, sponsors, and volunteers
  • Oversee the Kenosha-Racine third-party fundraising program including but not limited to:
    • Serve as point of contact for third-party fundraising including portal development and management for tracking and reporting
    • Recruit, train, and cultivate third-party event volunteers
    • Follow up after each third-party event and oversee acknowledgement for donors
  • Participate in planning and implementing the WHS overall fundraising strategy
  • Actively participate in supporting other WHS events as needed

Qualifications

  • 1-3 yrs work experience in event coordination or fundraising required
  • Handles high-pressure situations professionally in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and desire to create process improvement
  • Experience managing volunteers preferred
  • Demonstrated alignment with our mission, people-centered philosophy, and organizational values
  • Able to meet physical demands of job
