Courageous Conversations for Fundraisers: Inviting All People In

About the Event

Inclusion, diversity, equity and access (I.D.E.A.) work can seem overwhelming. It’s true that there is a lot of work to be done in order to shift the power dynamic in fundraising. For many, that work isn’t being done fast enough. For some, it’s overwhelming to even know where to start.  Still others are left wondering if they even have a role in I.D.E.A. work if they are just now realizing there’s work to be done.

No matter where you fall on that spectrum, everyone can help move the needle toward a more equitable and just profession by incorporating inclusion tactics into their daily habits.  In the same way that micro-aggressions can create a hostile culture for individuals, micro-inclusions can create ways to invite new people into this space.

Join us for a discussion on how we can invite others into this work and what small actions we can take to advance I.D.E.A. concepts in our day to day work. – as professionals who want to create a more diverse workforce, as an AFP chapter who wants to create a more welcoming environment, and as fundraisers who want to create a more representative donor base.
