Salary Range: $56,000 - $66,000 Salary/year

Job Summary:

The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is hiring a full-time Grants Manager to support funding initiatives that strengthen WHS’s grants program. This position is the primary grant writer and is responsible for all aspects of the grant management cycle as well as the cultivation & stewardship of a growing portfolio of institutional funders focusing on long-term, strategic partnerships to advance mission & impact. Key accountabilities:

Institutional Giving Strategy & Grant Management

  • Manage the full grant lifecycle for a portfolio of institutional funders generating $1M annually
  • Collaborate with program leaders to align funding opportunities with organizational priorities & emerging initiatives
  • Maintain & monitor a detailed grants calendar
  • Track & evaluate grant performance

Funder Cultivation & Relationship Growth

  • Build strong relationships with institutional partners & new funding prospects
  • Partner with program & development staff to design compelling engagement opportunities for funders, including site visits & events

Collaboration & Learning

  • Connect the development team, program leaders & other departments to translate program outcomes, stories and impact metrics into compelling, data-driven proposals & funder communications
  • Stay current on trends in institutional philanthropy, animal welfare & human services funding
