Working closely with the Director of Institutional Giving and Institutional Giving Manager, you'll spearhead the orchestra's grant efforts. This includes prospecting, researching, preparing, writing, and submitting compelling proposals and grant applications aligned with the advancement department's priorities.  Your expertise will be vital in securing funding from both public and private sources, while you'll also be responsible for identifying new grant opportunities and ensuring timely, accurate grant reports.

JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Under the direction of the Director of Institutional Giving, and in collaboration with the Institutional Giving Manager, the Grant Writer will be responsible for prospecting, researching, preparing, writing, and submitting proposals and grant applications in support of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra advancement department’s ongoing needs and priorities.  The primary focus is to write proposals and applications for both private and public funding, research new grant opportunities, and submit timely and accurate reports for grant funded programs and projects.
