Greater Milwaukee Foundation in a Nutshell

About the Event

Hosted by the Developing Professionals Group

In 1915, a small group of generous and visionary Milwaukee leaders believed in the power of philanthropy to change the lives of people in our community. By creating the then Milwaukee Foundation, they fashioned a way for a permanent pool of charitable resources to be used to address the community’s most pressing issues. More than 100 years later, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation serves as a leader and strong community foundation with a mission to inspire philanthropy, serve donors, and strengthen communities now and for future generations.

Will Janish, Philanthropic Adviser-Supporting Foundation at the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, will give an overview of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation and its various funding streams: community investment grants and donations through donor-advised funds. In 2017, GMF gave out $95.5 million through grants alone.

Don’t miss this opportunity to get an insider’s perspective and learn how your organization can partner with GMF.

RVSP to Developing Professional Co-Chairs, Robyn Wohlfeil, Elizabeth O’Hara and Hannah Harris at SIGs@afpsewi.org by Monday, April 23. Keep in mind, seating is limited so it is important to RVSP to reserve your spot.
