AFP Membership Dues & Eligibility Overview
Membership dues depend on the type of membership applicable to you. Members must self-assess to determine the type of membership for which they are eligible.
All members purchase their membership through AFP Global and select a specific chapter to join. Chapter dues for AFPSEWI are $60.
Members of all categories must subscribe to the AFP Code of Ethical Standards and promote the Donor Bill of Rights.

Professional Member
$320 AFP Global + $85 Chapter Fee ($405 total)
Open to individuals who hold some degree of accountability for income-generation within the fundraising process, hold some degree of responsibility directly for fundraising, and are compensated for their services.
Associate Member
$320 AFP Global+ $85 Chapter Fee ($405 total)
Open to individuals or volunteers who are engaged in fields related to fundraising and fundraising support, or who have mutual interests with fundraising professionals.
Young Professional Member
- Age 26 & Under: $70 AFP Global + $35 Chapter Fee ($105 total)
- Age 27-30: $125 AFP Global + $60 Chapter Fee ($185 total)

Open to persons who hold some degree of responsibility directly for fundraising, work within the U.S. and Canada, are 30 years old or younger, and are employed, or have been employed by an organization that provides benefits to society
Retired Member
$75 AFP Global + $60 Chapter Fee ($135 total)
Retired membership in the Association is open to individuals who no longer practice as paid fundraising professionals but who, at the time they seek Retired Member status, have been Professional members of the Association for the immediate past five consecutive years.
Organizational Membership Categories
Open to small nonprofit organizations that can answer yes to all the following criteria:
$145.00 AFP Global + $70.00 Chapter Fee ($215 total)
- Must be a nonprofit organization
- Have an operating budget of less than $1,000,000
- Maintain a fundraising department with less than two (2) full-time equivalent (FTE) staff
- Are individually incorporated or otherwise organized as a separate entity in the laws of the specific country
- Not affiliated with a larger institution supporting their operations
The organization will designate one fundraising professional to receive the benefits offered in this membership category. The membership may be transferred to another individual if the original member leaves the organization. Limit one membership per organization.
$1,625 for five members: $260 AFP Global + $65 chapter fee ($325 per member). Additional memberships are available for $325 each.
Open to large nonprofit organizations that wish to have multiple members in the association. The organization will designate a minimum of five (5) to receive Professional member benefits. The memberships may be transferred to another individual if the original member leaves the organization.
Starting at $1,500
Open to for-profit organizations whose work complements the fundraising profession.
