Associate Director of Development - Dane County Humane Society

AFP SE WI Administrator
November 14, 2018

Dane County Humane Society (DCHS) is on a journey to be the national model of animal sheltering and community outreach. Over 9,000 companion animals, exotic species, farm animals, small mammals, and orphaned and injured wildlife annually find refuge, healing, and new beginnings at DCHS. We are far more than a soon to be world-class animal shelter; we offer humane education programs, community spay/neuter and vaccination clinics, foster animals for victims of domestic abuse, a pet food pantry, dog training classes, and so much more. DCHS volunteers and professionals come together every day in the spirit of Helping People Help Animals, and together we create a culture of compassion, empathy, integrity and accountability.

Join Dane County Humane Society’s as our new Associate Director of Development! You will be part of an innovative eight-person development, marketing and humane education team. Your main focus will be building and stewarding relationships with a portfolio of individual major gift donors. You will help us grow our giving societies for major and planned gifts to create a legacy of sustainable and transformational funding for DCHS. Proven track record of donor cultivation, making and closing asks, and stewardship is a must.

Our main campus is located on 29 beautiful wooded acres on Madison’s southeast side and includes our main shelter including administrative offices, equine and livestock barn, and wildlife center.

Enjoy a flexible schedule to accommodate occasional evening/weekend activities, cutting edge Raiser's Edge NXT database, excellent administrative support, fantastic coworkers, lots of puppy and kitty snuggles and of course our amazing volunteers and donors. Your greatest reward will be helping people help animals, especially helping our donors fulfill their philanthropic goals. Fulltime with benefits. Start date negotiable, but please apply as soon as possible for best consideration.
